Description:
You’ll learn furniture design, ergonomics, the psychology of color and lighting
and the role of the computer in architecture. You’ll gain the skills of the
graphic designer, the hand-to-eye drawing coordination of the illustrator, the
imagination of the industrial designer, the eye of the photographer, the
knowledge of the computer artist, the style of the fashion designer, and the
soul of the fine artist. The graduate student in the Interior Architecture &
Design program will be prepared for professional practice through integrated
theory, design and technology in tandem with industry standards. The graduate
student will be taught to achieve a balance between the mastery of design skills
that meet the needs of the profession, and the creativity and imagination that
will lead to better ways of thinking about our environment. For the graduate
Interior Architecture & Design student's Final Project, a site is selected in
order to redesign its function and interiors; under the direction of a faculty
of professional experts, concern for spatial issues, design innovation and
attention to detail are emphasized. The concept of the project will demonstrate
an energetic professional approach, and will be professionally exhibited upon
approval by the Final Review committee. The Academy of Art University's MFA
Program focuses on building a solid intellectual and practical foundation for
artistic expression. The level of dedication and seriousness with which art and
design are approached at the Academy fosters an unparalleled creative
environment. The MFA Degree Program consists of studio work and academic
investigation for a period of two and a half years. Students graduating from the
MFA Program are masters of their media. They exhibit nationally, they are
included in prestigious public and private collections, and have the expertise
necessary to compete as industry leaders or teach art at the university level.

Description:
The MFA in Advertising is designed to provide the graduate candidate with
expertise in directing a full advertising campaign from concept to finish,
including market research, strategy, copywriting, art direction and
presentation. As Art Directors, Copywriters, Production or Freelance Artists,
for print, websites, TV and radio, our graduate candidates focus on establishing
themselves as creative communicators capable of formulating carefully planned
strategies, concepts and executions in both traditional and new media.
