The Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering is intended to meet the needs
of students who wish to prepare for careers and expertise in areas such as
construction and project management, design and analysis of complex systems
(including structures such as tall buildings and bridges), environmental
engineering, consulting, and research. This program also provides excellent
preparation for doctoral studies. The program offers concentrations in the areas
of structural engineering, construction engineering and management,
hydraulics/hydrology, geotechnical engineering, engineering mechanics, and
environmental engineering.

The program objectives of the Master of Science degree in Computer Science are
to prepare you for the increasingly sophisticated application of computers to
the needs of industry and society; to prepare you for research, teaching, and
further graduate study in computer science; to prepare you for leadership roles

culture. It emphasizes cultural pluralism, examining the creative tension
between unity and diversity in the American experience. It is self-consciously
interdisciplinary, requiring graduate students to integrate knowledge from the
