Description:
The M.S. degree in Administration of Human Services combines courses in management, public policy and social issues to prepare students for leadership roles in the field of human services. The degree differs from a counseling degree in that students are prepared for the management of agencies rather than the delivery of therapeutic services to clients. This program encourages critical and creative thinking skills which will enable the graduate to effectively bring about positive change in organizations. With an emphasis on social change and diversity, this degree provides a comprehensive knowledge base of organizations, their philosophy and structure and the specialized services that are provided. The program is offered in an accelerated format with courses scheduled in the evenings and on Saturdays during each eight-week session.
