Description:
AWS is a unique interdisciplinary program committed to forging links between
feminist theory and social change in the real world. The program provides
students with an opportunity to work closely with nationally recognized feminist
scholars from the humanities, social sciences, education and management. The
interdisciplinary character of the degree allows students to develop a course of
study that cuts across traditional disciplinary boundaries and can be tailored
to their individual needs and interests.

The Master of Arts in Arts and Cultural Management (MAACM) combines management,
policy and decision-making training with advanced study in the humanities. The
program in arts and cultural management strives to achieve the optimal balance
of advanced study in arts and cultural theory, policy, management, and hands-on
experience. Internships, practical research on live issues, and a faculty
engaged in the community-at-large provide a unique opportunity to master the
skills and knowledge required of leaders in arts and cultural management.

Description:
Students in the Cultural Studies Department study the nature, origins,
production, distribution, and persistence of contemporary and past cultures. The
programs approach topics from a variety of perspectives, studying the theories,
canons, and paradigmatic assumptions of several disciplines. Students develop a
course of study giving them intellectual depth in at least one traditional
humanities or social science field as well as the theoretical, multidisciplinary
breadth of cultural studies.

seminars, and flexibility in designing individual courses of study. The English
program emphasizes breadth in American and British literatures as well as areas
of concentration in interdisciplinary fields. These degrees prepare students to
