Courses of study are tailored to match the professional goals of each student. A
dissertation based on original research is required for the PhD, and a thesis
option is available for students in the MS program interested in
research-related careers. A non-thesis option for the MS degree is also
available for students planning a career in landscape design, extension,
consulting, or other fields not related to research.

Description:
The Ph.D. in Applied Economics program at Clemson University is solidly based on
economic theory and quantitative methods. Our students will develop and
demonstrate the ability to define and solve real-world problems. Students'
coursework and research may be focused on one of several areas of concentration.
The M.S. is offered as a thesis option for those planning on further education
or careers requiring research skills, or as a non thesis option for those
wanting a practical training in economics and business and a specific emphasis

The environmental toxicology program at Clemson University offers MS and PhD
