stablished in 1986, DePaul's Master of Laws in Health Law was the first academic
program of its type in the country. Consistently ranked among the nation's top
programs since its inception, this program, along with DePaul's Health Law
Institute, addresses the growing demand for lawyers with specialized credentials
in this field. Guided by outstanding full-time faculty and leading attorneys,
the health law curriculum evolves as health care law and technology change.

Located in the heart of Chicago's legal and financial communities, DePaul's
College of Law offers five joint degree programs, four Master of Laws Programs,

The College of Law is the proud home of the renowned International Human Rights
Law Institute, the Center for Church/State Studies, and the Center for Law and

The Master of Laws (LL.M.) is an advanced degree for attorneys who wish to
expand their legal training or broaden their proficiency in a particular field.
DePaul's three LL.M. programs provide students with the optimal combination of

Description:
For more than a quarter century, DePaul's Master of Laws in Taxation program has
offered a comprehensive series of courses covering all significant areas of
taxation. The program provides instruction in both the substantive and
procedural aspects of tax law with courses ranging from the basics of personal
and business income taxation to advanced problems in corporate and partnership
taxation, estate and gift taxation, and state and local taxation. By emphasizing
the transactional approach, the program introduces students to problems and
solutions encountered in actual tax law practice. The full-time faculty brings a
balance of practical experience and a scholarly approach to the program,
complemented by prominent and skilled adjunct faculty.

The Master of Laws in Intellectual Property (IP) is viewed as one of the most
comprehensive IP programs in the country, addressing the growing demand for
specialized training in IP law. The College of Law is an innovative leader in
the field of IP and information technology law. The Center for Intellectual
Property Law and Information Technology (CIPLIT¿), on which the LL.M. is based,
is one of the finest programs of its type in the nation. DePaul is at the
forefront in these fields with 10 full-time faculty members and more than 30
course offerings. Students also gain valuable experience writing and editing for
the highly regarded DePaul-LCA Journal of Art & Entertainment Law and by working

Description:
Students in the Community Ph.D. program will be trained in research
methodologies to be applied to social and community interventions. These
students will gain an understanding of social-community change from a public
health perspective rather than a traditional individual-counseling orientation
and will be collaborating with either community agencies, not-for-profit groups,
or grass-roots organizations. Their principle roles are in research, evaluation,
program development, and other non-clinical activities.

Description:
The M.A. program in Economics provides students with the substantive and
theoretical knowledge and analytic skills necessary to pursue careers as
professional economists in public policy,government, international trade,
finance, private industry, quantitative research or teaching. The M.A. program
includes coursework that is both theoretical and analytical. Students learn to
analyze economic data to identify and address problems that arise in a changing
national and global economy, and study the broader historical and social context
in which economic relationships occur and economic policies are applied.
