Description:
The M.S. Geology program is designed to provide students with a broad
background in geology, plus a more in-depth knowledge of at least one area
of geology through thesis research. Emphasis is placed on solution of
geologic problems through a combination of field studies and laboratory
applications.

Description:
Corrections and juvenile justice are two of the fastest growing career
fields, and completing a graduate degree in this discipline will lead to
career opportunities in all levels of government and the private sector. The
30-hour M.S. degree is taught by faculty members with extensive experience
in the field as practitioners, consultants, and researchers. Students
completing this degree will gain considerable insight into intervention
strategies, correctional and juvenile justice leadership, and policy
analysis built on a foundation of theoretical knowledge about offenders, and
knowledge of current correctional and juvenile justice research. EKU’s M.S.
program is designed with working professionals in mind, and will be
completely online in the Spring 2008 semester. Students may choose to
complete a comprehensive exam or write a thesis to complete degree
requirements. For students interested in the on-campus program, several
graduate assistantship positions are available each semester. The positions
provide a modest stipend in return for performing research-related work for
a department faculty member.
