The Endicott College-TIES program uses a virtual interface that invites
participants to form learning communities. These communities embrace
transformative processes that foster individual competency, collaboration
and ecological sensitivity. The M.Ed. in Montessori Integrative Learning is
the first of its kind to include Montessori teacher preparation for the
elementary level.

The Masters of Education in Elementary Education prepares candidates to work
in the field ofelementary education, grades 1 through 6. Students develop
skills in curriculum design, instructional strategies,observation and
assessment, communication, and collaboration with families and the
community. Students whohave not completed provisional certification
requirements follow a sequence of theoretical and practical experiencein
elementary classroom settings including pre-practicum, practicum and
seminar.

reading specialist and to meetthe requirements for certification in the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Teacher of Reading. We view theTeacher of
Reading and Literacy as a specialist who masters the field of knowledge
relative to reading and otherlanguage arts, and as a consultant to the wider
school community. Candidates for the M.Ed must hold aProvisional with

The Masters Degree in Special Needs (Pre K-9) prepares professionals to work
with children withspecial needs who participate in integrated or
self-contained classrooms. Participants in this program of study willdevelop
skills in integrative curriculum design, creating a supportive classroom
ecology, adaptive teachingstrategies, informal and formal assessment and
maintaining parent partnerships. Upon successful completion ofthis program,
graduates will be eligible for the Massachusetts Teacher of Students with
Special Needs (Pre K-9)Standard Certification.
