Description:
The English language programs favor an interdisciplinary approach which deals critically with all forms of media and are designed for students who strive to be theorists as well as creators. A combination of Internet-based learning and limited summer residencies in Saas-Fee (Switzerland) is especially suited to the needs of professionals regardless of where they live. Current faculty includes Chantal Akerman, Alain Badiou, Jean Baudrillard, Yves-Alain Bois, Christopher Fynsk, Peter Greenaway, Donna Haraway, David Lynch, Carl Mitcham, Jean-Luc Nancy, Avital Ronell, Wolfgang Schirmacher, DJ Spooky, Sandy Stone, Gregory Ulmer, John Waters, Samuel Weber, and Slavoj Zizek.

The English language M.A. and Ph.D. in Communication programs favor an interdisciplinary approach which deals critically with all forms of media. These innovative programs are designed for students who strive to be theorists as well as creators. A combination of Internet-based learning and intensive summer residencies in Saas-Fee (Switzerland) is especially suited to the needs of professionals regardless of where they live.
Continuous tutorials with a faculty advisor are offered during the academic year at local sites such as New York and Hamburg as well as via the Internet. Current faculty includes Chantal Akerman, Alain Badiou, Jean Baudrillard, Yve-Alain Bois, Peter Greenaway, Donna Haraway, David Lynch, Jean-Luc Nancy, Avital Ronell, John Waters, Samuel Weber, and Slavoj Zizek.
