The Evergreen State College is nationally recognized for its innovative

("MPA Program")reflects Evergreen's commitment to study in a cooperative
learning environment. Evergreen's MPA Program provides a professional
education for people who are, or plan to become, leaders and community
activists in the public and nonprofit sectors. Evening courses enable most
part-time students to complete all degree requirements in two years.

Description:
MASTER IN TEACHING DEGREE PROGRAM (MIT)is designed for individuals who have
earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and do
not hold a current teaching certificate. MIT provides meaningful, relevant,
and innovative instruction that reflects the broad diversity and wide range
of individual interests of participating students. MIT is cohort based, team
taught, and interdisciplinary. The 2002-2004 program will be an
evening/Saturday, full-time program with the summer off. MIT leads to the
Master in Teaching degree and Certification (K-12)in Washington state
(recognized in most other states). Early admission deadline is November
15th.

Description:
The Graduate Program in Environmental Studies integrates the environmental
sciences and public policy throughout the curriculum and in the classroom.
Its goal is to provide professional preparation for people working at the
interface between ecology and other environmental sciences on the one hand
and societal policy making in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors on
the other -- and thus to produce graduates who combine an interdisciplinary
understanding of the social and natural sciences with the skills and wisdom
to intelligently address environmental problems.
