Florida Atlantic University presents a program leading to the degree of Master of Public Administration (MPA) which is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration. The objective of this program is to provide a quality master's degree which will (a) provide the appropriate training and background for those planning to enter careers in government service, (b) provide a means of improving the capabilities of present government employees, and provide an opportunity for various government leaders to encourage self-development for their personnel, (c) provide an opportunity for operational government research, and (d) arouse interest in programs to improve the caliber of government operations that vitally affect Florida and the nation.

Description:
The Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) degree program is designed to educate future planners capable of performing and improving the practice of comprehensive and current planning. The research, teaching, and service activities of the Department are guided by the values associated with growth management in a democratic society; the growing importance of high technology in providing assistance to decision makers; and the professional curriculum considerations articulated by the Planning Accreditation Board (PAB). The MURP is a 48-credit-hour program structured to be completed on either a full-time or part-time basis.

FAU is in the State University system, offering a master's degree in literary study, not only the traditional canon but also multicultural literatures and rhetoric. In addition, students may concentrate their studies in Fantasy/Science Fiction or creative writing. A thesis degree. Small individualized program. Applicants must have an MBA from an AACSB accredited university. The Ph.D. Program in Business administration at Florida Atlantic University's College of Business prepares candidates for research and teaching careers at universities and for careers within firms or government agencies requiring advanced research and analytical capabilities. The specific objectives of the Ph.D. program are to: (1) provide the student with in-depth knowledge of fundamental theory and contemporary research issues in an area of concentration and supporting disciplines;(2) develop the student’s skills in using research tools (such as statistical methods, econometrics, experimental design, computer software), and the ability to apply these tools with an understanding of the underlying assumptions and the limitation on their use;(3) develop the student's skills in communicating the research results to appropriate audiences in the academic environment, in industry, and in government;By ensuring that students receive specialized training in business at the highest level, FAU’s Ph.D. Program in the College of Business provides proper preparation for students to pursue specialized careers that require advanced research and analytical capabilities.
