Description:
Harvard Divinity School, through its multiple graduate program offerings,
prepares women and men for both lay and ordained ministry across a variety
of denominations. In addition, candidates can use their theological degree
as preparation for a host of public service vocations including teaching,
public policy, medicine, law, clinical and counseling opportunities, and the
like. Students, through cross-registration opportunities, have access to the
curriculum and faculty of the other Harvard graduate programs. This allows
candidates to study the intersection of religion with other allied fields.
Harvard also offers a curriculum that includes specific and unique course
work in Women's Studies and significant offerings in non-Christian
traditions including Islam, Buddhism, and Judaism.Those interested in
ministry have a selection of @200 supervised field education sites, multiple
worship services, denominational counselors from all main-line traditions
which provide guidance for those pursuing ordination, and the continued
development of programs germane to ministry.
