Description:
In association with Northwest Family Life www.northwestfamilylife.org - Mars Hill Graduate School offers training that meets the requirements of Washington State to work with perpetrators of domestic violence. Washington Administrative Code 388-60 requires that Direct Treatment Staff be trained as follows: A minimum of thirty hours of training about domestic violence from an established domestic violence victim program
A minimum of thirty hours of training from an established domestic violence perpetrator treatment services program
At least 250 hours of experience providing services to domestic violence perpetrators and domestic violence victims.
Note: MHGS does not offer the internship/experience portion of the WAC 388-60 requirement. Upon completion of the 60 seat hours of Direct Treatment Staff Training, Northwest Family Life will award a "certificate of completion".

Additional courses will be offered by Mars Hill Graduate School for graduate credit to address domestic violence and related issues. These courses can be taken as electives within the existing MHGS degree programs or by a non degree student or for continuing education credit (CEU).

Description:
The Certificate in Spiritual Direction is a two-year, 12-credit hour program designed to expand the student's understanding of and experience in the traditional field of spiritual direction. A spiritual director devotes her/himself to assisting others deepen their relationship with and devotion to God, often exploring questions like: Who is God? How can I discern God's voice? How will I be transformed as I grow in relationship with God? Whereas counseling focuses on restoring broken relationships, improving one's self-worth, and helping individuals become functional, spiritual direction concentrates on a person's dynamic relationship with God. It is often a place of welcome for those who have felt disenfranchised from the church.

Mars Hill Graduate School offers the M.A. in Counseling Psychology degree for students seeking graduate education in the area of counseling. As a learning community informed by incarnational theology, we believe that our Triune God is continually made known through relationship. As persons created in the image of God we seek to honor the other as sacred and adopt a way of thinking and being that is filled with awe, gratitude, and hope. Our calling is to face our fallenness and embrace suffering as we move toward reconciliation and restoration. Our purpose is to unite Christian theology with philosophy and interpersonal psychology.
