Description:
The New York College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM) of NYIT is dedicated to
the creation of an academic environment for predoctoral and postdoctoral
education of osteopathic physicians, careers in primary care, and the
scholarly pursuit of new knowledge concerning human health and disease, with
specific attention to the roles of the neuromuscular and musculoskeletal
systems. Special emphasis is given to osteopathic manipulative medicine and
ambulatory primary care. The focus is on the health care needs in medically
underserved areas---the inner city and rural communities.
