Description:
Niagara University’s M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies offers students the opportunity to take their academic interests in any direction that they choose. If you’re a highly motivated individual who wants to earn a graduate degree but haven’t quite found the perfect program, this may be the degree for you. Beyond the introductory seminar, there are no specific required courses, although students will investigate at least two different disciplines. The two-semester capstone experience can take a variety of shapes, from a grassroots campaign to a public service project to a traditional thesis. Courses are drawn from within the program itself, but also from the outstanding departments in the College of Arts & Sciences and existing graduate programs in Education, Business, and Criminal Justice. Internships and independent study courses may constitute a significant portion of an individual student’s curriculum.
Students who have just completed their undergraduate education, as well as mid-career professionals seeking to earn additional skills or credentials and lifelong learners will find a challenging, self-designed program that leads to a Master’s degree with 33 credit hours of study. Most classes meet in the evening, and students may transfer up to twelve credit hours of previous graduate study at another institution into the program.

Degree(s):
Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies
