Combining a strong academic foundation with counseling internship experiences at
elementary, middle and high school levels, the School Counseling program
integrates Phillips’ commitment to systemic thinking and applies it to students
in a school setting. Phillips students are encouraged to find solutions for
working effectively in busy, diverse educational systems while remaining
connected to their personal philosophies and objectives. The program provides an
exploration of the differences between the ideal and practical worlds of schools
as students work to earn the California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS)
Credential.

Description:
An American Art Therapy Association and WASC approved program. This program is
designed to meet the educational standards of the American Art Therapy
Association (AATA). Students and professionals may elect to qualify for American
Art Therapy Registration (ATR), provided that they meet all additional AATA
graduate and postgraduate admission and practicum/traineeship requirements.
Information regarding these standards is available through the Phillips Art
Therapy Department, the American Art Therapy Association (AATA) and the Art
Therapy Credentialing Board (ATCB). The Art Therapy Program meets the clinical
practice competency and specialization guidelines for the California Board of
Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and fulfills the requirements for BBS continuing
education for licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (MFT) and licensed
Clinical Social Workers (LCSW). Program curriculum and hours subject to change
according to BBS and AATA/ATCB requirements.

Description:
Since its founding in 1971, Phillips (formerly California Family Study Center)
has trained helping professional in psychotherapy and human relations using a
systems orientation. Phillips graduates are respected and sought after for their
unique combination of academic preparation, personal maturity, and practical
clinical skills. Phillips now offers the Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) program
in Clinical Psychology.
