The program is designed to prepare individuals to perform counseling services in
schools at all grade levels. Upon successful completion of requirements,
candidates will be eligible for both the Master of Arts in Education (Counseling
& Guidance Concentration) and the Pupil Personnel Services Credential. The Pupil
Personnel Services-School Counseling Credential allows its holders to become
school counselors in kindergarten through 12th grade and in adult education.
Students who complete a Master of Arts in Education with a major in Counseling
and Guidance are also eligible to perform counseling services in public and
private institutions of higher education.

Description:
The major thrust of this program is to prepare individuals to perform the
responsibilities of entry level administrative positions. Program content will
include both knowledge and practice components designed to meet the needs of
today's and future administrators. The program requires significant field
experiences focused on the development of leadership and skills. Upon completing
the program, receiving the institutional recommendation and submitting an
application and fee, the candidate will receive a Certificate of Eligibility for
the Preliminary Administrative Services Credential. The certificate will
authorize one to seek initial employment as an administrator.
