The MBA Program at Radford University emphasizes excellence and continuous improvement in graduate learning by stressing knowledge, technical, interpersonal and experiential skills in the development of managerial decision-making. Description:
The School Counseling concentration is designed for students interested in becoming professional counselors and working in elementary, middle and secondary schools.
The Student Affairs concentration educates future student affairs administrators, student development educators, and counselors who are skilled in assessing and promoting student growth and development in the context of higher education.
The Community Counseling concentration is designed to provide knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for counselors to work in a variety of community settings, including mental health centers, substance abuse programs, marriage and family clinics, career counseling agencies, and employee assistance programs in business and industry.

Description:
The graduate program in the Department of Art provides specialized training in individual studio areas (including graphic design) leading to the terminal degree in studio art. The M.F.A. program provides customized teaching to graduate students, often on a one-to-one basis. Students work closely with professors in specialized areas of expertise. The intimate nature of the program is a positive trait related to the program's moderate size. The interaction and interfacing of students involved in different media emphases is a strong feature. Another strength is the strong national and international appeal of our program, which attracts students from throughout the nation and the world. The graduate program in art is characterized by flexibility of offerings, studio spaces, providing students with opportunities to explore a variety of interests and develop expertise in chosen media. Description:
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders offers a comprehensive accredited graduate program in Speech-Language Pathology and a pre-professional undergraduate program. The professional practice of Speech-Language Pathology requires graduate study. Individuals applying for national certification and state licensure must hold a Masters (or doctoral) degree in Speech-Language Pathology or other approved field of study, meet specific requirements in course work, practicum, professional experience, and pass a national examination. Description:
The Graduate Program in Criminal Justice allows students to prepare for management and other careers in criminal justice and related fields. The program is designed to both enhance students' existing capabilities and to develop unique competencies and skills for future academic/career goals.
Criminal justice involves the study of crime from a systems perspective. Far from being a narrowly defined law enforcement or correctional program, criminal justice is an interdisciplinary and professionally oriented academic discipline concentrating on many aspects of crime and the concepts that impact on our system of justice. Accordingly, to prepare students for the various positions within criminal justice, the program seeks to develop a broad foundation of knowledge pertaining to crime and its ancillary issues. The curriculum for criminal justice students is interdisciplinary in nature and includes courses that will provide students with the research and analytical skills necessary for understanding the nature of justice and the issues that affect its implementation.
In addition to classroom learning, the department makes numerous opportunities available to students, including internships and a variety of student organizations.

Description:
Radford University's Master of Science degree in Reading focuses on practical and remedial skills for reading specialists. It prepares students for positions as reading teachers, reading coordinators, and reading specialists (K-12). In addition, it prepares them for advanced graduate study in Reading and related fields and for other positions where knowledge of reading is important, such as consulting for companies that publish reading materials. The program is a carefully sequenced blend of courses designed to provide the skills and knowledge necessary to become a confident, thoughtful and skilled reading specialist. A state approved program established in 1973, this curriculum follows the guidelines of the International Reading Association. This program offers flexible course scheduling for students who are full-time teachers. In addition, the program is structured so that the three years of experience required for state endorsement will be achieved by the time beginning teachers finish the program (based on completion of three hours during both fall/spring semesters and six hours during summer session.

Description:
The graduate program in English leads to a Master of Arts or Master of Science degree and prepares students for teaching at the secondary and community college levels; further graduate study in a doctoral program; and entry into various professions where critical thinking and writing are valued and employed.
Graduate study in English provides students with opportunities to study British and American literature intensively; it challenges them to solve complex problems related to literary scholarship. The program emphasizes independent literary research and the writing of scholarly papers that reflect an insightful understanding of literary criticism, literature's aesthetic and humanistic values, and literature's social and historical significance.
Along with British and American Literature, the areas of emphasis include: English Education (non-licensure), English Education (initial secondary teacher licensure, grades 6-12, MS degree only).
