Description:
The advent of recombinant DNA technology has catapulted the biotechnology industry to the forefront of biology career opportunities. In the medical sciences, gene therapy and immunotherapy have played a major role in the fight against hereditary diseases and cancer. In agriculture, biotechnology has created a multitude of plants resistant to to diseases and drought. In the environmental sciences, bioremediation by genetically altered bacteria is used to clean up polluted sites. In law enforcement, biotechnology is used to identify perpetrators.

Description:
In the center of downtown Chicago, Roosevelt University's Chicago College of Performing Arts enrolls more than 350 students in The Music Conservatory. A mere two blocks from Symphony Center, the conservatory faculty features more than 25 members of the Chicago Symphony and Lyric Opera Orchestra, including many principals. Description:
Because of the program's reputation for excellence, students from around the world have studied theatre at CCPA/Roosevelt. The university recruits nationally for theatre students, however word of mouth remains the best recruitment tool, as graduates have become "ambassadors" for the program. A major selling point is the conservatory's outstanding internship program. Students receive academic credit for interning at Chicago's professional theatres. Another innovative part of The Theatre Conservatory is the summertime Fast Track Master's Degree for high school theatre teachers. This program was the first of its kind in the country and is now being copied by other universities.
