Description:
The Master of Arts in Elementary Education program is designed to enable
teachers to enhance skills to meet the demands of an ever-changing profession.
The program of study is planned to help teachers read and evaluate educational
theory, critique and conduct research and enhance pedagogical skills. The
curriculum in elementary education at Seton Hill meets the certification
standards of and is accredited by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
After completing this program, teachers will return to their classrooms as
master teachers and will be qualified to serve as curriculum specialists and
in-service trainers.

Description:
The Master of Arts in Special Education is designed to enhance the teaching
skills necessary to provide quality education for all students in today's
classrooms. Theory and skills will be presented to help teachers address the
educational needs of children and youth who have a variety of mental and/or
physical disabilities. The curriculum meets the standards for special education
dictated by the Pennsylvania Department of Education for certification. Program
content and pedagogy is intended to provide comprehensive training for teachers
of exceptional children. Upon completion of the master's program, teachers will
be able to serve as master teachers and will be prepared to serve as curriculum
specialists and in-service trainers.

One of the only programs in the country that teaches students to produce the
fiction that sells. Students can focus in on romance, science fiction,
children's literature, or mysteries. Students are required to be on-campus only
two weeks out of the year (January and June). In addition to the application and
fee, we require official transcripts from all colleges attended, 3 letters of
recommendation, a writing sample, and a TOEFL score, if applicable.

The Master of Arts and Advanced Certificate programs in art therapy are designed
to teach students the theories and skills necessary for the effective practice
of visual and verbal therapy in a variety of therapeutic environments
(educational, clinical, and rehabilitative settings). As art therapy is firmly
rooted in both art and human psychology, the master's program combines the two
disciplines and offers the art therapy student a strong foundation in applied
psychology alongside an in-depth approach to the theory and practice of art
therapy.
