Description:
SIT Graduate Institute's on-campus and low-residency programs in International Education prepare professionals for careers in study abroad, international student services, international recruitment, or student advising. The M.A. degree is available in both on-campus and low-residency options. The Graduate Certificate is low-residency only. Graduates work in schools, colleges, and other organizations that seek to increase international understanding through community education, citizen exchange, and educational travel. Students develop practical skills as they examine the theory and history of international education, compare education systems around the world, and research immigration law and practice. For the on-campus MA degree, Concentrations are available in International Education Advising and Educational Exchange Management.

SIT Graduate Institute's Master of Arts in Teaching program emphasizes reflection, observation, self-evaluation, experiential learning, and skills development within a strong learning community. Students master technical teaching methodologies through language classroom practice, on-campus coursework, and a one-on-one supervised teaching internship. The program is offered in a one-year or two-summer format designed for working professionals. Description:
The course provides practical training through teaching demonstrations, lesson planning and analysis, and practice teaching and feedback. Participants develop skills in teaching, speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar and culture. The course begins with a brief look at second language acquisition through the experience of being a learner. Participants the examine specific teaching areas each day, which they apply in their daily practice teaching of adult ESOL learners. Participants gain skills in analysis through examining their lessons with SIT teacher trainers.

The Graduate Certificate is a one-year, part-time, 14-credit graduate and professional development program. Through a combination of pedagogical approaches, participants develop both the theoretical knowledge and the practical, hands-on skills needed to design and manage programs that transform conflict and promote healing and reconciliation in individuals and communities torn by violent conflict.
