TCU's history program offers master's degrees in a number of areas and Ph.D.
in the areas of our two major strengths, U.S. history and Latin American
history. Our goal is to produce graduates who are both specialized scholars
and well grounded teachers who will be competitive on the academic job
market. Recent graduates from the PhD program have gone on to tenure-track
jobs at colleges and universities across the country, including the
University of Nebraska, the University of Alabama, the University of
Minnesota, Stephen F. Austin State University, Earlham College, and many
others.

Description:
Brite offers two advanced professional degrees--one in homiletics and one in
pastoral theology and pastoral counseling. The degree in homiletics offers
numerous academic and experiential opportunities for experienced preachers
to improve skills in preaching and interpretation. The program in pastoral
theology and pastoral counseling provides both academic and clinical course
work for persons who serve as chaplains, pastoral counselors or ministers in
congregational settings. Sixty percent tuition grants are available for each
candidate.

Texas Christian University's Master of Liberal Arts (MLA) Program offers
adults the opportunity to return to a campus setting and to be taught by
some of the University's finest professors. These talented instructors help
students feel comfortable tackling new material or finding new insights in
more familiar areas. Each course is developed exclusively for the MLA
program to insure a broad-based, intellectually stimulating exposure to the
richness of the liberal arts. Unlike most graduate courses, MLA courses do
not have prerequisites, so students are free to explore a variety of fields
or topics they may have missed as undergraduates.
