Description:
The Electrical Engineering Department focuses on instruction and research in
Computer Engineering, Digital processing, Power Systems, Microelectronics,
and VLSI Design. These areas are important because electrical engineers
design and build electrical components such as microelectronic devices,
power generators, microprocessors, and communication devices. The
twenty-first century will have continuing demands for these electronic
systems in most industrial and consumer products.

Description:
The Ph.D. Program in Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) is the first
such program on the Tuskegee University campus. Building upon excellence in
teaching and research, the Ph.D. program is designed to serve the emerging
multi-disciplinary challenges of science and technology. The program is
spearheaded by the Center for Advanced Materials (T-CAM), which is the
largest multi-disciplinary research facility on the Tuskegee University
campus. A broad spectrum of areas connected with materials science and
engineering are open for Ph.D. level research. T-CAM has well established
research funding from federal agencies including the DoD - Army, Navy and
Air Force, NASA,NSF, EPSCoR, Boeing, Lockheed, and the U. S. Army and
Missile Aviation Command. The Center has been contributing to basic and
applied research in materials science and engineering related areas and is
acclaimed nationally and internationally for over a decade. Abouttwenty
faculty members from various disciplines of Aerospace, Electrical,
Mechanical and Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics,Mathematics and
Computer Science are part of the Ph.D. program. T-CAM possesses
state-of-the-art facilities in all aspects of materials research Ð synthesis
and chemical analysis, processing/manufacturing, performance evaluation and
modeling of advanced materials and structures.( In addition, various
supporting laboratories with specialized facilities including Ð
Semiconductor Facility, Laser Laboratory, and other related disciplines are
closely integrated with the Ph.D. program). The faculty members are involved
with both basic and applied research related to current interests to a
variety of defense and commercial areas. The Ph.D. program is designed such
that students may join either upon completion of the Baccalaureate or the
Masters degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics.
