Description:
The Master of Science Degree in Computer Science is intended to prepare
individuals for careers as programmers, analysts, and system designers in
industry, education, or government. Working with the computer science
faculty, a student designs a program which is flexible and intended to meet
the educational needs of the student. Areas of emphasis include software
engineering, artificial intelligence, and computer graphics.
Accreditation Description:
UTC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
(SACS). Two of the undergraduate Computer Science concentrations are
accredited by ABET/CAC.

Description:
Program provides a background of theoretical and clinical applications for
exercise prescription and research. Laboratories and local clinical
facilities are used as an integral part of the education process.
Accreditation Description:
Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE), since
2003.

Research Areas:
Research areas include practical based exercise testing to improve exercise
testing methods completed in clinical and fitness settings, and correlating
results with health surveys. The department is involved in community based
research projects and is working on developing projects with the Chattanooga
branch of the UT college of medicine. Students will have opportunities to be
involved in ongoing projects. As part of the Master's requirements, students
will complete an independent (or collaborative) research project. Fostering
student research is considered very important and students will be highly
mentored during the completion of research.

Description:
The Master of Accountancy (MACC) is primarily for students who want a
program of advanced study in accounting. It is designed to provide students
with a greater breadth and depth in accounting education than is possible in
the baccalaureate or master of business administration programs. Completion
of a master of accountancy will help students prepare for the Uniform CPA
examination which requires 150 semester hours and specifies certain
accounting and business courses.

The Computational Engineering graduate program prepares students to
contribute to multidisciplinary computational engineering teams engaged in

The Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice is a professional degree
which prepares graduates for leadership in management positions in criminal
justice and social service agencies, or entry into doctoral study. Housed
within the School of Social and Community Services, the program places
emphasis on development of skills in critical thinking, communication, and
applied research. Selecting from a variety of specialty courses, students
devise an area of specialization based upon a career interest. Students from
