Description:
The Master of Science degree in Business with a specialization in accounting
and business advisory services is designed to meet two important educational
objectives: First, when combined with a bachelor's degree in accounting, the
program allows students to earn the additional credits necessary to meet the
150-hour requirement to sit for the Uniform Certified Public Accounting
(CPA) exam in Maryland and in many other states. Second, by incorporating
courses in the related disciplines of financial management and information
technology, the program complements the technical skills acquired in an
undergraduate accounting education. Graduates of this program will have the
flexibility needed to accelerate their public accounting careers or to
pursue careers in other areas, such as management accounting, internal
auditing, accounting for governmental or other nonprofit entities and
management consulting.

Description:
The University of Baltimore’s Taxation program was established in response
to the increasing complexity of the field of taxation and its critical
impact on the effective management of business, financial, industrial,
governmental and nonprofit organizations. The objective of the program is to
not only prepare students for careers as professional tax advisors for these

Description:
The WebMPA program is designed to train public and not-for-profit managers
in the skills they need as the public demands increasing accountability in
spending public money. The 11 courses that comprise the core curriculum are

Description:
The Doctor of Communications Design program offers an engaged, critical
approach to interactive media that is highly original in American higher
education. Drawing on a flexible array of disciplines and perspectives, it
involves a community of experienced, inventive, highly motivated learners
who understand the dynamic of theory and practice. In this multidisciplinary
program, students learn to lead in developing and applying advanced
communications techniques to commerce, culture and society. They take
courses in interface design, graphic design, information architecture,
writing, business and public-sector management, and contemporary economics
and culture. They also develop competence in at least one digital
information technology—Internet publishing, interactive multimedia, digital
video and audio or distance-learning technologies.

Description:
In addition to classes and workshops in writing, students in the M.F.A. in
Creative Writing & Publishing Arts program take courses in creativity, book
arts and small-press publishing. They send their work to established
literary journals, create their own print and electronic journals and
publish broadsides and chapbooks. The program’s culminating project is the
print or electronic publication of poetry, fiction, essay or memoir that
every student has written, designed and produced. The program’s unique
integration of writing and publishing skills prepares students for lives of
writing and makes them strong candidates for teaching (as this is a terminal
degree) and publishing positions.

Description:
Although some universities offer graduate degrees in graphic design,
computer graphics, information architecture or video production, the M.F.A.
in Integrated Design program focuses on the integration of these media and
allows students to explore their similarities and differences. The program
is built on the premise that 21st-century designers must be fluent in
multiple mediaù expert in motion/video, hypermedia and Web-based
technologies in addition to print. Students develop the skills to
conceptualize design solutions to communication problems, the expertise to
