Description:

The University of Detroit Mercy's MBA program is one of the oldest, evening graduate business programs in the United States. Instituted in 1948, it was given full recognition by the AACSB-The International Association for Management Education in 1963. It was among the first sixty universities in the United States to be so accredited. The College is the second oldest AACSB-accredited MBA program in Michigan. We are one of eleven members of a consortium with other Jesuit institutions across the United States, whereby, courses taken at one institution will be accepted by another.

Description:
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers courses leading to the degrees of Master of Engineering, Master of Engineering Management, and Doctor of Engineering. The department emphasizes three areas of concentration: environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, and structural engineering. Environmental engineering includes water and wastewater engineering, solid waste management, environmental chemistry and biology, and physical, chemical, and biological unit operations. Geotechnical engineering includes soil mechanics, soil dynamics, tunneling, earth dams, and pavement design. Structural engineering emphasizes finite element methods, computer-aided structural analyses and design, prestressed concrete, and plastic analyses.

The department specializes in Computer Architecture, Parallel and Distributed Processing, Image Processing, Digital Signal Processing, Pattern Recognition Antenna and Electromagnetics, and Control Systems. This program is designed to prepare students for doctoral study or positions in industry or government service in Electrical and Computer Engineering areas. Most of our students find job in the Auto Industry.

Description:
Graduate programs leading to the degrees of Master of Engineering and Doctor of Engineering are offered by the department. Students with an interest in management can pursue a Master of Engineering Management degree with an emphasis on mechanical engineering. The programs of study are tailored to the student's individual interests in consultation with a faculty adviser. There are excellent opportunities for advanced theoretical and experimental study in the areas of mechanical systems, manufacturing, and thermo/fluid systems. Many research projects are simulated by the University's partnership with Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors as well as their supplier community. Substantial research support also comes from the Department of Defense and the National Science Foundation.

Description:
The Chemical Engineering Department offers the Master of Engineering, the Master of Engineering Management and the Doctor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering. The department specializes in polymer and plastics engineering. Course-work covers all important phases of polymer processing, characterization, and testing. Product design instruction includes database development, computer applications (CAD and CAE), andeconomic considerations. Complete laboratory facilities are available within the department, at the Polymer Institute and the Center of Excellence in Environmental Engineering and Science, all on the McNichols Campus.

This is a 33 credit hour program designed to prepare students for doctoral study or positions in industry orgovernment service in computer related areas. In recognition of various student interests, courses may be selectedfrom areas related to computer science, including primarily quantitative business decisions, software and hardwareengineering, and mathematics appropriate for the theory of computers or computer applications.
