Description:
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of
Massachusetts Dartmouth offers graduate programs leading to the Master of
Science Degree and the Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Electrical Engineering.
The programs offer opportunities for graduate studies in the broadly defined
areas of communications and electro-optics; parallel computer architectures and
supercomputing; database systems; intelligent systems and advanced automation;
microwave and solid state electronics; remote and in-situ ocean sensing systems;
and signals, systems, control and estimation theory. An emphasis in the marine
applications of these broad areas is supported by specialized courses and
dissertation research. The marine emphasis in electrical engineering graduate
studies at the Dartmouth campus is unique within the UMass system.

Description:
This program brings together the allied disciplines of biomedical engineering
and biotechnology and will be open to a wide range of baccalaureate degree
recipients with strong quantitative skills and with engineering/physical
science, life/clinical science and related backgrounds.
The program will emphasize a multidisciplinary, team approach in course/seminar
presentations across the UMass campuses, laboratory rotations, and joint
research projects prior to dissertation specialization.
