Description:
The law school offers a full-time day program and a part-time day program for a
limited number of students whose other responsibilities make full-time study
difficult. The law school's curriculum is designed to challenge its students and
prepare them for the modern practice of law. The curriculum reflects a
commitment to traditional legal education and academic emphasis is placed on
fundamental lawyering skills and areas of knowledge.

Description:
The Department of Geological Sciences offers broad-based training in geology and
geophysics. Special areas of research emphasis include: seismological and
neotectonic studies of the New Madrid Seismic zone (with the Center for
Earthquake Research and Information), geochemical and hydrogeological studies of
the Memphis aquifer system (with the Ground Water Institute), stratigraphic and
geochemical studies of carbonate strata, ancient lake deposits, and boron
deposits.
