comes not from one department but at least twelve and from five schools or
colleges around the University of Miami. MAIA marshals the best intellectual
resources of the entire university to create a truly unique program. Students
have six core or required courses, a practicum and then select three electives
of their choice. Students can take electives at St Petersburg State University,
Russia.
MAIA is a professional degree in International Administration: it trains its
graduates for international careers. The Master’s program can be completed on a
part-time or full-time pace, taking anywhere from one full year at the fastest
pace to two years on the slower pace for full-time working professionals. All
core courses are offered weekday evenings. Our students gain not only academic
knowledge but also practical skills.
MAIA focuses on the world of the 21st century. Graduates emerge with expertise
in a range of contemporary issues. It uses state of the arts educational methods
and information technology. MAIA is located in Miami, a truly global city. As
University of Miami President Shalala put it "Miami es el mundo".
The MAIA program is a member of the International Association of Schools and
Institutes of Administration (IASIA) and an associate member of the Association
