Description:
The MS in Computer and Information Systems program is designed primarily for
working professionals wishing to improve their skills and knowledge in computer
and information technology-related fields as well as those interested in
pursuing a career in this exciting and rewarding field. The program offers two
concentrations, a Computer Science Concentration and an Information Systems
Concentration, as well as preparatory Fast Track to allow students from
non-Computer Science backgrounds to quickly prepare themselves for the program.
The Computer Science Concentration is a rigorous technical program designed to
provide the student with in-depth state-of-the-art knowledge in critical
computer-related technologies such as Architecture, Databases, Networking,
Algorithms, and Artificial Intelligence. The Information Systems Concentration
is a unique program offering a blend of technical courses and business courses.
The student selects technical courses to match their interests and business
courses such as Quantitative Analysis, Accounting, and Economics. The
Online/Classroom Mix Our program offers a truly unique and exciting educational
experience through our newly developed multi-media cyber-classroom, which
captures the entire classroom experience. Coupled with our Blackboard® online
Content Management software it allows each student to tailor their education
from a virtual, completely online learning experience to a completely in-class
on-campus experience. The student may even customize their learning experience
on the fly as life responsibilities dictate, which will allow smooth completion
of the degree, even if a job requires constant or extended travel. Our approach
boldly redefines the traditional brick-and-mortar classroom experience and
offers the student a transparent blending of the in-class and online
experiences.

Description:
The Master of Arts (MA) in English Language and Literature degree is offered
through the College of Arts and Sciences at UM-Flint. It has a flexible
curriculum and is offered as a part-time program, with classes in a variety of
traditional, online, and mixed-mode formats with meetings during evening hours
and weekends. It is designed to provide convenience and flexibility to working
professionals. The MA in English is intended to provide a post-baccalaureate
educational opportunity for people who are interested in pursuing advanced study
in English. The program is particularly appropriate for: In-service teachers
Librarians Those who wish to prepare to teach in junior college or community
college English settings Those who wish to continue their exploration of English
beyond the baccalaureate degree and eventually aim toward a doctoral degree
Students desiring graduate English study for whom on-campus, high-residency
programs are not a viable option Flexibility The program’s hallmark is its
flexibility. With only one required core course (ENG 500) among the program’s 30
semester graduate credit hours, the constraints by day or hour of course
offering are minimized. The other required elements—one course in theory and one
course each in language study, writing, and literary study—can be fulfilled by a
variety of classes. Combined with the many possibilities for the optional
Individual Scholarship Experience, the program can be tailored to fit each
student’s personal and professional needs. Concentrations Students may choose to

master's degree emphasizing meaningful use of technology for teaching topics of
global importance. The program includes two 3-week summer residencies in Geneva,
with all other coursework offered online. The program is targeted at educators
and others preparing to take leading roles in schools, colleges, and other
institutions poised to use technology for educational purposes or people
thinking about eventually pursing a doctoral degree in a field related to
educational technology.

Description:
The program faculty is dedicated to helping students achieve full professional
competency. In addition to administering anesthesia and monitoring patients
during surgery, these competencies include selecting and administering
preoperative medication and anesthesia and managing postoperative recovery from
anesthesia.The program combines academic and clinical anesthesia courses taught
at Hurley and at the University of Michigan-Flint. At the completion of the
program, a Master of Science in Anesthesia degree is granted by the University
of Michigan-Flint. Graduates then are eligible to take the National
Certification Examination.Certification is required by law in two-thirds of the
states and by the majority of employers to practice as a nurse anesthetist.
